The Divine State of Maryland

The 7th State to be established in this country was Maryland, established on April 28th, 1788. This is the first state to carry a shift in its blueprint from its 6 older siblings. For one, this is the first of the oldest states that does not have Mars in Cancer, but has Mars in Leo. This gives the state a lively, bold, expressive energy that is lacking in the original blueprints. Mars in Leo is a regal energy, which makes sense as the state of Maryland was actually named after Queen Elizabeth.
Secondly, Maryland is one of only 2 states to carry the Universal Master Number 11 energy! The Master Number 11 also reduces to 2, which aligns with states such as Pennsylvania where the energy is quite feminine and aligned with relationships, unions, partnerships and harmony. Yet the 11 requires spiritual mastery, as its goal is to reach a state of enlightenment, destiny and full potential. There is a magic to this state, and in many ways, it must be revived.
Maryland has a Taurus Sun, representing abundance, prosperity and also a stubborn energy that can be hard to break. With Uranus having transited through Taurus for the last 7 years, there have been many changes and tests for this land. An example of this was in 2024 with the collapse of the Key Bridge. Maryland has also experienced some unexpected earthquakes which make increase as we continue with Uranus at the critical degrees of Taurus.
Maryland has it's Moon + Pluto in Aquarius, aligning with it's siblings for it's Pluto return and inevitable transition into new Age of Aquarius foundations and systems. It also has its Mercury in Aries, which makes this state a fiery and assertive consciousness. This may explain why this state has the city with the highest crime rates in the country (Baltimore), which is known as one of the most dangerous places. It's Venus in Gemini + Jupiter in Gemini makes it a bustling place of learning, writing, and the development of communication. Many famous writers lived in Maryland including Edgar Allen Poe, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Upton Sinclair.
With Uranus' entrance into Gemini coming in July of 2025, many may suddenly be called to or from this state. There may a huge boom for writers, journalists, and new forms of media that will boom out of Maryland. It could certainly become a hub for our new forms of communication!
What makes Maryland's blueprint very different is also it's Saturn placement, as its the first of the original colonies to have Saturn in Pisces. This state went through it's Saturn return from 2023-2025. The previous 6 states all had Saturn in Aquarius, which carried the karma of equality versus slavery, humanitarianism versus capitalism, and freedom versus tradition. Interestingly, Maryland was known as a "border state" during the Civil War, and was split between those supporting both sides. This ties in very much with this being the first sibling to change the karmic blueprint.
Saturn in Pisces represents a spiritual karma that must be healed through energy clearing, re-establishing connection to Source and learning boundaries and healing through forgiveness. This is shown through things like the Oiji board which was first created in Maryland. We also see themes of imprisonment, suffering and isolation through Saturn in Pisces. In the mid 1700's, Britain shipped thousands of English convicts to live our their sentences in Maryland.
Those that are guided to this land, or those who reside on it, are there to clear the spiritual karma of the land and to resolve the energies of imprisonment and spiritual enslavement. This land is a unique place for spiritual expansion, mastery and incredible creativity through writing, performing, and the arts. This state can become a hub of creative and spiritual learning and mastery, with communities that are built on the shared vision. The next renaissance may boom from Maryland, inviting many to participate in the incredibly versatile energies of this land, a blank canvas waiting for those who are match to it.
